The Department of Administrative Law and Procedure at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs held a binary lesson on the discipline “Organization of Escort Units.”
Second-year cadets from the Educational and Research Institute for Training Specialists in Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine participated in the event. The lesson featured Police Lieutenant Colonel Vadym KALASHNYK, Head of the Escort Service Department of the Preventive Activities Directorate of the National Police Headquarters in Dnipropetrovsk Region, who collaborated with senior university lecturer Mykola REPAN.
The session addressed the legal framework governing escort units, their organizational structure, and operational systems. Vadym KALASHNYK elaborated on the primary tasks of escort units and their interaction with other authorized bodies, including units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Criminal Enforcement Service, territorial departments of the Judicial Security Service, and courts.
Particular attention was given to the role of female police officers in escorting detainees, persons in custody, defendants, and convicts. The discussion also covered the specifics of escorting on various types of transport, the organization of processes within courts, and the observance of human rights during escort unit operations.
