Sport as Rehabilitation: DSUIA Offers Table Tennis Training with Modern Equipment

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs hosted its weekly table tennis training session for military veterans, introducing a new ball-throwing machine designed to enhance stroke practice.

Table tennis, one of the most popular veteran sports, has become a tradition at DSUIA. Over the past year, regular sessions have fostered a community of enthusiasts. This time, members of the Veterans’ Council from the Solone Territorial Community of the Dnipropetrovsk region joined the group.

During the session, participants tested the newly installed equipment in the university’s table tennis hall—a specialized ball-throwing machine. This innovative tool allows players to practice defensive techniques against opponent attacks, not only under the guidance of trainers but also independently using the advanced setup.

As a low-impact sport, table tennis is widely recognized for its effectiveness in rehabilitating wounded veterans, helping them regain physical fitness and emotional well-being.

The event was organized as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ “Friendly Support” project.
