Psychologists from the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs are conducting sessions with first- and second-year cadets to address bullying prevention and counteraction.
Psychologist Vladyslav BIDNYAK introduced the cadets to modern approaches in psychology, focusing on the causes, signs, types of bullying, and, most importantly, its negative consequences. A significant portion of the session was dedicated to practical psychological training exercises aimed at identifying and addressing the root causes of bullying in groups.
Special attention was given to the topic of personal responsibility in preventing and addressing bullying within a group. Participants discussed possible ways to respond to manifestations of this negative phenomenon that can be implemented by team members.
The head of the Psychological Support Division of the Vocational Training Center, Serhii VYSHNEVSKYI, emphasized that combating bullying remains a constant focus for the university’s psychologists. Preventive measures help future law enforcement officers develop a strong negative attitude toward this phenomenon.
The importance of combating bullying in the educational environment lies in the future application of these skills by every police officer. The ability to prevent bullying will positively impact their professional duties, personal relationships, family life, and societal interactions. Through such initiatives, the university is shaping a new generation of police officers who understand the importance of protecting the rights and dignity of every individual.
