Student Government Elections Held at O. Hostishchev Police Lyceum in Dnipro

MIA Lyceum

The elections for student government positions have taken place at the O. Hostishchev Police Lyceum in Dnipro. Lyceum students voted to elect a Hetman and direction-specific leaders, marking a significant event aimed at fostering leadership skills, civic responsibility, and accountability among the students.

Approximately 20 candidates participated in the election process. Each candidate presented themselves through video introductions, detailed their programs, and shared their vision for improving life at the lyceum. The elections adhered to all formal rules: voting was conducted by secret ballot, with ballots distributed individually to each voter. Students approached the process with seriousness and responsibility. The lyceum administration emphasized that the system of student self-governance is rooted in historical traditions connected to Ukrainian Cossack customs.

Following the vote count, Kyrylo DOROSHENKO was elected Hetman of the Lyceum.

Direction-specific leaders, or starshynas, elected include:

• Educational and Scientific Direction: Polina HASAN;

• Legal, Ethical, and Disciplinary Direction: Dmytro DOLHAREV;

• National-Patriotic Direction: Denys PROKOP;

• Tourism and Local History Direction: Hlib SMILIANETS;

• Cultural-Artistic and Media Direction: Kamila BEDUKHA;

• Physical and Sports Direction: Yaroslav ARAKH.

The newly elected leaders received strong support from their peers and are now ready to implement their ideas to enhance the educational process and overall life at the lyceum.

The elections not only served as an engaging event but also offered a valuable opportunity for students to experience a democratic process firsthand. It encouraged them to make decisions and take responsibility for their actions. This initiative represents another step in nurturing future leaders who will contribute to the development of society and the state.
