Honoring the Heroes of Kruty at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs

Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs hosted a commemorative event dedicated to honoring the memory of the Heroes of Kruty. The event brought together representatives of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, university leadership, students, and cadets from the Dnipro Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Oleksandr Hostishchev.

The gathering began with a moment of silence to honor the fallen heroes.

Combat veteran and Deputy Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration – Head of the Regional Military Administration, Ivan Nachovnyi, addressed the attendees. He emphasized the bravery of the young people who, over a century ago, sacrificed their lives to defend the independence of the newly formed Ukrainian People’s Republic. He also noted that history is repeating itself today, as young Ukrainians stand shoulder to shoulder with experienced warriors to resist the enemy.

The event was also attended by combat veterans currently serving at DSUIA:

Yevhenii Afanasiev, Head of the Course at the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Dmytro Sirotchenkov, Deputy Head of the Course at the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists for Preventive Activities Units.

DSUIA students prepared a presentation about the Battle of Kruty, allowing students, cadets, and lyceum attendees to gain a deeper understanding of this historical event, which has become a symbol of sacrifice and the unbreakable spirit of Ukrainian youth.

As a tribute to the fallen heroes, cadets and lyceum students lit commemorative candles.
