DSUIA Cadets Visited the Theater and a Photo Exhibition

NEWS

In their extracurricular time, cadets of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs actively engage in the artistic life of the city. This weekend, their program included a visit to the “Artsvit” gallery and the Dnipro Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

Cadets from the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation of the National Police of Ukraine attended the “World Press Photo 2023” exhibition. This visual archive of the year’s events showcases 129 photographs covering a wide range of topics, from military conflicts to climate crises and migration issues.

Among other photo works, the exhibition features two series from Ukraine. Johanna-Maria Fritz’s project “Kakhovka Dam: Flood in the Combat Zone” conveys the chaos and tragedy that accompanied the evacuation of civilians after the dam’s destruction. According to the cadets, the images evoke deep empathy and highlight the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe. In contrast, Yulia Kochetova’s series “War Is Personal” adds elements of poetry, video, and music to the photos, making it particularly emotional and poignant.

Meanwhile, cadets from the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine attended the performance “The Phantom in the Opera”. This modern theatrical show featured opera soloists performing hits from world-famous musicals such as “The Phantom of the Opera”, “Notre-Dame de Paris”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Mozart. The Rock Opera”, “Chicago”, and others.

The production impressed the audience with spectacular transformations, unexpected stage solutions, and vivid theatrical imagery.

For the cadets, visiting the theater was not only an opportunity to immerse themselves in the arts but also a valuable learning experience. Watching the performance helped develop their observation skills, analytical thinking, and aesthetic taste.

Such cultural activities contribute to the formation of well-rounded individuals and support the professional growth of future police officers.
