Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs recently hosted a training session dedicated to combating gender-based violence. The event was attended by cadets of the Faculty for the Training of Specialists in Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine.
The training was organized by senior lieutenant Khrystyna DEREVYANKO, a lecturer at the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure, in cooperation with representatives of the Charitable Foundation “ADRA Ukraine”. The session was conducted as part of the “Prevention and Counteraction to Domestic Violence” course.
Legal expert Karina MOSKALENKO and psychologist Lolita HETA discussed with cadets the key aspects of responding to cases of gender-based violence. Participants developed practical skills for communicating with victims, analyzed real-life cases in groups, and practiced the police response algorithm when receiving reports of violence.
The training was part of the “Safe Water, Mental Peace, and Social Transport for Ukraine Affected by Conflict – WMT Ukraine” humanitarian assistance project, implemented with the financial support of the governments of Germany and the Czech Republic.
