Participants of the short-term advanced training program—investigators and inquiry officers authorized to investigate criminal offenses involving children—attended an open lecture on cybersecurity at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
The event was organized by the Department for Professional Development and Specialization of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning at DSUIA.
Dmytro YEHOROV, an IT specialist from the EU Advisory Mission (EUAM), and Serhii PROKOPOV, a senior lecturer at the Department of Information Technology, conducted a session on “Basic Cybersecurity for Civil Security Sector Personnel.”
The lecture covered key cyber threats to computer and mobile device users, including the latest forms of cyberattacks. The speakers outlined modern threats, presented neutralization strategies, and shared effective information protection methods.
Through QR codes, attendees accessed useful resources and specialized software, enabling them to complete practical cybersecurity exercises. Several aspects of the training sparked active discussions and experience sharing.
The lecturers also introduced real-world case studies on information protection methods in high-risk environments. Participants enhanced their cybersecurity knowledge and gained practical tools to ensure safe information management.
