Cadets of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) attended an event dedicated to Ukraine’s Military Journalist Day and watched a film shot in occupied Mariupol.
The event, titled “Those Who Hold the Information Front,” took place in Dnipro at the John McCain Ukrainian Diaspora Library in cooperation with the YaMariupol Dnipro Support Center for Displaced Persons.
The cadets participated in an online discussion with Lviv-based military journalist Taras HRYN, who shared insights into the challenges of reporting from the frontlines, the difficulties of documenting war events, and the importance of truthful information.
At the end of the meeting, the cadets watched the film “Fortress Mariupol. Orest” directed by Yuliya Hontaruk. The event provided future law enforcement officers with a deeper understanding of the mission of military journalists and their role in covering the war.
