Victor has successfully completed his training at the Driving School for People with Disabilities of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA). He was ceremoniously awarded a Category B driver’s license by Igor Kovalov, the University’s Vice-Rector and Lieutenant Colonel of Police.
Victor began his driving course in 2022, but the full-scale Russian invasion prevented him from completing it, as he joined the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine. After sustaining a severe combat injury, he now moves with the help of two prosthetics.
Victor learned about the DSUIA Driving School online, where he successfully completed both theoretical and practical training. According to him, the instructors are true professionals who explain every aspect of driving in detail, ensuring their students feel confident on the road.
Victor already owns a vehicle adapted for hand control, and now, with his driver’s license, he will enjoy greater mobility.
The Driving School for People with Disabilities, initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, is implemented within the framework of the National Strategy for Barrier-Free Accessibility. This initiative, led by First Lady Olena Zelenska, aims to promote the social integration of people with disabilities by providing them with equal opportunities to learn to drive.
