“Police Work Focused on Citizens’ Needs”: A Binational Class at DSUIA

A binational class was held at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, organized by the Department of Administrative Law and Process for cadets of the Faculty of Pre-Trial Investigation Training of the National Police of Ukraine.

The event was led by Senior Lecturer Mykola REPAN in collaboration with Patrol Police Officers from the Patrol Police Department of Dnipropetrovsk Region, Senior Lieutenants of Police Tetiana KOVALKOVA and Eduard YEVDAKHA.

During the session, the cadets were introduced to real-life situations that patrol officers face daily. The officers discussed their routine responsibilities, including responses to calls regarding break-ins, medical assistance, vandalism, domestic violence, fights, and other offenses. They also addressed issues related to combating public alcohol consumption, especially in parks and playgrounds.

A special focus was placed on practical communication skills with complainants and offenders. The police officers demonstrated the importance of adhering to the principles of legality, necessity, proportionality, and effectiveness when applying police enforcement measures.

The session sparked great interest among the cadets, who expressed a desire to continue gaining practical skills for their future careers in the police force.
