As part of the ongoing collaboration with Dnipro State Medical University, a series of training sessions for DSUIA cadets continues at the university’s anatomical museum.
An introductory tour was organized for cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation of the National Police of Ukraine on the initiative of Professor of the Department of Criminalistics and Pre-medical Training at DSUIA, Mykola YEFIMOV.
The museum houses over a thousand exhibits, some of which have been preserved since World War II. Among them are samples of human and animal organs, skeletons, cells, mummified bodies, and embryos with developmental pathologies preserved in formalin solution.
During the tour, cadets deepened their knowledge of the anatomical structure of the human body and its functions. They also explored historical sections of the museum dedicated to the development of anatomical science and outstanding researchers in this field. According to the organizers, a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology will help future law enforcement officers not only conduct more effective criminal investigations but also recognize injuries and damages that may occur during detentions, conflicts, or accidents. This knowledge will enable police officers to provide proper pre-medical assistance and quickly assess the severity of victims’ conditions.
