A thematic event dedicated to the 154th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Ukrainian poetess Lesya Ukrainka was held at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
February 25th is celebrated as Ukrainian Women’s Day, also known as Ukrainian Woman’s Day, in honor of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian writer and public figure.
University cadets delved into the life and creative journey of Lesya Ukrainka, who became a symbol of unwavering spirit and the fight for national identity.
The attendees listened to a lecture on the key milestones of Lesya Ukrainka’s life, her contribution to the development of Ukrainian literature, and her role in shaping the cultural and civic consciousness of Ukrainians. Special attention was given to the analysis of her poetic and dramatic works, which continue to inspire the modern generation. The event was initiated and organized by the Department of Social and Humanitarian Work of DSUIA, with the head of the department, Lieutenant Colonel of Police Natalia KARNAYKH, leading the effort.
The event was a great opportunity for cadets to revisit the work of Lesya Ukrainka through the lens of modernity and recognize its relevance today.
