Table Tennis for Military Veterans at DSUIA: Training Sessions Continue

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

Training sessions are held regularly—once a week—providing opportunities for rehabilitation, physical development, and social interaction.

The training program is designed to meet the needs of veterans returning from the front, supporting their health and social adaptation. Sessions take place under the supervision of experienced coaches.

Table tennis is an ideal sport for rehabilitation. It is non-traumatic, helps restore coordination, strengthens muscles, and improves blood circulation. At the same time, the game enhances reflexes, concentration, and strategic thinking. The training is led by Ukraine’s table tennis champion, Vasyl KOVAL.

Additionally, athletes had the opportunity to improve their skills using new equipment—a ball-serving machine that allows for full training sessions without a sparring partner.

This week, representatives of the Dnipropetrovsk Professional College of Sports and members of the Dnipro Table Tennis Federation joined the training. They conducted a master class for the athletes, demonstrating key game principles, serving techniques, and defensive strategies.

According to the organizers, the sessions not only strengthen the body but also create a friendly atmosphere where participants can communicate and support one another.

The event was held as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Friendly Support project.
