NEWS

Cadets of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs attended a practical training session on the discipline “Qualification of Administrative Offenses by the Preventive Activities Unit.” The event was joined by patrol police officers from Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The training session was conducted for first-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation of the National Police of Ukraine by Senior Lecturer of the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure, Mykola REPAN, along with Patrol Police Officer of the Patrol Police Department in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Captain of Police Artem TERESHCHENKO, and Community Relations Officer of the Patrol Police Department in Zaporizhzhia Region, Senior Lieutenant of Police Olha PETRENKO.

The police officers shared practical skills in responding to cases of domestic violence. Cadets were instructed on how to properly complete the risk assessment form and make a decision on issuing an emergency restraining order. Special attention was given to the most common violations and mistakes made by police officers during case documentation and the preparation of administrative offense reports.

To consolidate the acquired knowledge, cadets, together with practitioners, drafted an administrative offense report under Part 1 of Article 173-2 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (Domestic Violence). Future investigators gained valuable hands-on experience in police administrative procedures, which will serve as an important foundation for their future service.

The session was organized by the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure in cooperation with the Division for Training and Specialization of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning of DSUIA as part of the initial professional training programs for police officers.
