The Department of Theory of State and Law at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) organized a guest lecture featuring legal experts.
The event was held as part of the academic disciplines “International Legal Standards of Human Rights Protection” and “International Human Rights Protection,” elective classes on “European Union Law,” and in preparation for the Unified State Qualification Exam (USQE). Special emphasis was placed on familiarizing participants with the practices of the European Court of Human Rights.
The lecture was delivered by Olga Kulich, Head of the Department of Theory of State and Law, alongside senior lecturers Yuliia Lebedieva and Daria Lavrenko.
Among the invited speakers were Oleksandr Drozdov, an advocate, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, and Honored Lawyer of Ukraine; Vladyslav Sytiuk, an advocate and PhD student at the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; and Bohdan Hrebeniuk, an advocate.
The speakers presented a range of topical issues to the students, including: “Working with Interpol and Extradition: Challenges, Abuses, and Protection Mechanisms,” “Mediation and Ethical Standards in the Legal Profession,” and “Swedish Legislation (Judicial System).”
Participants gained a deep understanding of international practices in human rights protection, particularly in the context of extradition and cooperation with Interpol. Special attention was devoted to analyzing legal standards, ethical considerations, and mediation in advocacy—key aspects for those planning a career in the legal field.
