Key Responsibilities of Community Police Officers: Meeting for DSUIA Cadets

The Department of Administrative Law and Procedure organized a session as part of the course “Organization of Community Police Officers and District Police Officers’ Activities.”

Second-year cadets from the Institute of Training Specialists for Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine met with Captain Vitalii VUIEVYI, a Community Police Officer from the Community Interaction Sector of the Prevention Department of the Kamianske District Police Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region.

At the beginning of the meeting, the guest practitioner spoke about his work as a community police officer in the Bozhedarivska Territorial Community, detailing the material and technical resources available to officers. He emphasized that officers are equipped with modern transport and necessary tools, including a chainsaw, a set of instruments, a searchlight, hydraulic shears, communication devices, and more, which allow them to efficiently perform their duties in the field.

The primary responsibilities of community police officers include ensuring public order, monitoring compliance with traffic regulations, preventing offenses and crimes, and providing quality police services to the population. During the full-scale war, their duties have expanded to include many additional tasks related to national defense needs.

Overall, the meeting with the officer sparked great interest among cadets, especially the demonstration of the service vehicle. The session contributed to broadening their knowledge and deepening their understanding of this area of law enforcement.
