Taras Shevchenko’s Birthday: The Great Kobzar Through the Eyes of Lyceum Students

MIA Lyceum

On the occasion of the artist’s birthday, the students of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev gathered to watch historical essays about the life of Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko.

Lyceum student Artur ZHELEZNIAK prepared a report on the biography of the outstanding artist and interesting facts about his life. During the presentation, it was noted that on March 9, 1814, in the small village of Moryntsi, Cherkasy region, a boy was born who would become a Prophet for Ukrainians: fate destined him to awaken the nation from its national slumber. His message to future generations remains extremely relevant today, especially in times of war with russia.

The students emphasized that Taras Shevchenko is not just a prominent poet and artist but a true symbol of Ukraine’s indomitable spirit, one of the greatest figures in its history. His words call for struggle, his art awakens consciousness, and his life proves that even in the harshest conditions, freedom and dignity can be preserved. His works, particularly his poetry, laid the foundation for Ukrainian national identity. The artist’s legacy continues to inspire millions, reminding them of the power of words and the pursuit of justice.

Thus, March 9 is not just the poet’s birthday—it is a day of dignity for every Ukrainian.
