Cybersecurity: Open Lecture at DSUIA by EUAM Representative

The event welcomed participants of a short-term professional development program—investigators and inquiry officers authorized to investigate criminal offenses involving children.

The session was organized by the Department of Advanced Training and Specialization at the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA). Dmitry Yehorov, an IT specialist from the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM), and Serhii Prokopov, a senior lecturer at the Department of Information Technologies, conducted a class on “Basic Cybersecurity for Civil Security Sector Employees.”

The lecture covered key cyber threats to users of computers and mobile devices, including the latest types of attacks. The speakers provided a detailed overview of modern threats, outlined neutralization methods, and presented effective information protection tools. Using QR codes, participants gained access to useful resources and specialized software, enabling them to complete practical cybersecurity exercises. Certain aspects of the training sparked lively discussions and an exchange of professional experiences.

The lecturers showcased practical case studies on applying information protection methods under real-world threats. Participants not only deepened their cybersecurity knowledge but also acquired valuable tools to ensure safe handling of information.
