“Mental Health: How to Take Care of Yourself” – Training at DSUIA

Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), in collaboration with the Dnipro City Center of Social Services, conducted a training session for higher education students titled “Mental Health: How to Take Care of Yourself.”

The event was opened with a welcome address by the moderator, Larysa Nalyvaiko, Assistant to the Rector of DSUIA on Gender Issues, Doctor of Law, Professor, and Honored Lawyer of Ukraine.

The speakers included Vita Volkova, Head of the Specialized Service for Primary Socio-Psychological Counseling of Individuals Affected by Domestic Violence and Gender-Based Violence at the Dnipro City Center of Social Services, and Maryna Serdiuk, a Leading Social Work Specialist of the same specialized service.

The interactive event, incorporating training elements, aimed to familiarize higher education students with the concept of mental health, its key components, and influencing factors. Participants developed their own strategies for maintaining mental well-being and discussed the formation of a psychologically and socially healthy personality, taking into account potential risks. To enhance interaction and coordination, participants worked in groups, fostering active discussion and the exchange of ideas.

The offline portion of the training was attended by DSUIA representatives: Liliia Mezhevska, Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education, Candidate of Law, and Associate Professor, and Tsahik Ohanisian, Senior Research Fellow at the Research Laboratory for Studying Issues of Ensuring the Rights of Persons Affected by War, Candidate of Law, and Associate Professor.
