Table Tennis at DSUIA: Continued Training for Military Veterans

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

Every week, the Department of Special Physical Training at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) conducts table tennis training sessions for military veterans as part of their rehabilitation.

According to experts, sports activities significantly accelerate the recovery process for defenders who have sustained injuries. At DSUIA, these training sessions have been held for over a year. Veterans have the opportunity to engage not only in table tennis but also to visit the gym, take martial arts classes, and play billiards.

Table tennis sessions help improve coordination, strengthen muscles, normalize blood circulation, and develop reaction speed, concentration, and strategic thinking. The athletes are trained by Vasyl Koval, the Ukrainian table tennis champion.

Recently, members of the Veterans’ Council of the Solone Territorial Community in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast joined the training sessions. This time, veterans were coached by representatives of the Dnipropetrovsk Professional Sports College and members of the Dnipro Table Tennis Federation. They assisted participants in refining their serving technique, defensive skills, and game pace control.

This event took place as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ “Friendly Support” project.
