The event was organized by the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) with the participation of Colonel Maksym Chernii, Head of the Department for Detection, Prevention, and Suppression of Offenses and Deputy Head of the Eastern Territorial Directorate of the Military Law Enforcement Service.
The session was attended by second-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine. The topic of the event was “Police Response to Domestic Violence Cases Under Martial Law.”
Colonel Maksym Chernii spoke about the Military Law Enforcement Service (MLES), a special law enforcement entity within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of its tasks is to prevent and suppress criminal and administrative offenses within the Armed Forces, as well as to protect the life, health, rights, and legitimate interests of military personnel. According to the expert, one of the current pressing issues is preventing domestic violence involving military personnel.
The practitioner shared his experience of collaboration with the National Police and other security structures in preventing, detecting, and suppressing offenses, particularly those related to domestic violence.
Maksym Chernii emphasized that effective cooperation, thorough work, and professionalism enable law enforcement officers to be reliable partners for citizens who expect honesty, competence, and the protection of their rights from them.
