“Use of Criminal Analysis by Criminal Police Units”: Practical Training Session at DSUIA

A practical training session for second-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) was held with the support of the Criminal Analysis Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police (MDNP) in Dnipropetrovsk Region.

The event featured the participation of Yana Lazareva, Senior Inspector of the Analytical Work Department of the Criminal Analysis Department of the MDNP in Dnipropetrovsk Region and Senior Police Lieutenant.

During the session, current issues related to the work of analysts with departmental and open-source information were addressed. Specifically, the discussion focused on the application of OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) techniques and methodologies to identify potential instances of offenses.

Particular attention was given to the specifics of using artificial intelligence in analysts’ work, especially in countering war crimes and collaborative activities.
