Development Program “Procedural Interview. Basic” Launched at DSUIA

NEWS

The program was developed and implemented by the educational hub JustLearn with the support of JustGroup.

Over three days, participants—including police officers and other professionals—will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in effective communication. They will not only gain theoretical insights but also apply them in practice, working in pairs and analyzing real-life cases.

The trainers include representatives from the Office of the Prosecutor General, NABU detectives, district prosecutors, and faculty members from higher education institutions with specialized training conditions. Among them is Victoria Rogalska, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure at DSUIA and Police Major.

Special emphasis is placed on the psychological aspects of communication, particularly addressing biases and establishing psychological contact during interrogations.

The training was opened by Igor Magdalina, the First Vice-Rector of DSUIA.

On the first day, participants had the chance to get acquainted, discuss the program, and explore how procedural interviewing differs from other interrogation techniques. The session also covered memory-related issues and the algorithm for conducting procedural interviews. The day concluded with a reflection on practical exercises and discussions on the next steps in developing effective communication skills.
