On March 22, the Rector’s Council Cup in rapid chess (rapid) among higher and professional pre-higher education institutions took place at the Student Palace of DNU. The team from Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs participated in the competition.
The championship was held according to the Swiss tournament system: each game lasted 10 minutes, with an additional 5 seconds per move starting from the first. The chief referee of the competition was the honored coach of Ukraine, Yevhen Chesnokov.
A total of 53 participants competed in the tournament. The Rector of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Oleksandr MORGUNOV, and the Rector of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, Chairman of the Rector’s Council of Higher Education Institutions of Dnipropetrovsk Region, Serhii OKOVYTYI, also joined the event to play against students and representatives of higher education institutions.
Chess is not just a game but a true intellectual training tool that plays a significant role for future law enforcement officers, helping them develop essential skills for their service.
