Development of Productive Coping Strategies: Training Sessions at DSUIA

NEWS

At Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, training sessions were conducted for second-year cadets of the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists in Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine. These sessions were organized by the Department of Psychological Support.

Experts emphasize that in times of uncertainty, constant life-threatening situations, and excessive psycho-emotional stress, police officers must possess effective psychological tools to cope with stress and adapt to challenging life circumstances.

During the training, cadets expanded their understanding of overcoming professional, academic, and personal challenges and integrated the acquired knowledge into their own experiences. Using art therapy, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral techniques, participants conducted a reflective analysis of their emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and social strategies for responding to stressful situations.

This work helped cadets identify weaknesses in coping with psychological difficulties and determine personal resources that can be improved through conscious emotional and volitional efforts.

As a result of the training, cadets will enhance their neuropsychological resilience, gain a deeper understanding of their emotions, develop more effective stress response strategies, and learn to provide psychological support to others in their professional duties.

These skills are crucial for building psychological resilience and boosting the effectiveness of future police officers.
