As part of the events dedicated to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, students, faculty, and leadership of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs took part in a symbolic athletics run.

Representatives from all structural divisions of the university joined the event. Among them were DSUIA Vice-Rector, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ihor Kovaliov; Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education, Volodymyr Shablystyi; and Deputy Director for Educational Work of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev, Andrii Kiyko. Cadets, students, and lyceum pupils also participated.

The run was not only a test of agility, endurance, and general physical fitness for each participant, but also a display of unity, cohesion, and high team spirit. Such events are an integral part of the university’s sports culture, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle among students.

The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace was established in 2013 by the United Nations in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee. The date is symbolic, as on April 6, 1896, the first modern Olympic Games were held in Athens.
