The event was held for 2nd-year cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine.
The binary class was organized by the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure with the aim of strengthening the practical component in studying the application of special measures to combat domestic violence. In particular, it addressed the issuance of an urgent prohibition order against an offender and the preparation of relevant administrative materials. The practical session was conducted within the framework of the discipline “Prevention and Counteraction to Domestic Violence.”
The event was attended by Inspector of Platoon No. 2, Company No. 4 of the Patrol Police Department in the city of Kremenchuk, Patrol Police Directorate in Poltava Region, Junior Police Lieutenant Vita Komisar, and Senior Lecturer of the Department Mykola Repan.
The cadets were divided into individual groups: some portrayed offenders, while others, together with the patrol officer, intervened to stop the violence. Vita Komisar explained which measures an urgent prohibition order may include, what aspects are prioritized during its issuance, and how police officers should act if the offender refuses to voluntarily leave the victim’s place of residence.
Special attention was given to the assessment of the risk of repeated domestic violence and the preparation of protocols on administrative offenses. The cadets were also familiarized with potential scenarios that may arise directly at the scene.
The class was held with the aim of developing effective practical response skills aimed at stopping domestic violence and preventing its recurrence through the issuance of an urgent prohibition order.
At the end of the event, the police officer answered cadets’ questions. The participants gained new, practice-oriented knowledge in the field of prevention and counteraction to domestic violence.
