An event titled “Memory Development – the Key to Success” was held for first-year cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA).
Alina Horodnychenko, a psychologist from the DSUIA Psychological Support Division, noted that the interactive session combined theoretical knowledge about memory with practical exercises. The cadets performed activities focused on attention, memorization, and information recall.
Participants learned about types of memory, factors affecting its efficiency, and psychological techniques for its development. Special emphasis was placed on applying these skills in criminal police work — from creating psychological profiles of offenders to conducting interrogations and processing large volumes of data.
Interactive exercises such as “Mnemonic Express,” “Remember and Pass On,” and “Witness Card” engaged the cadets and promoted teamwork. At the end of the session, participants shared their impressions, highlighting the practical value of the knowledge gained.
Serhii Vyshnevskyi, Head of the DSUIA Psychological Support Division, emphasized that such activities are part of the university’s systematic approach to shaping future professionals.
