The two-day Ukrainian Student Sambo Championship has concluded in Dnipro. Cadet Yuliia Tolmachova from Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) secured second place in the competition.
The event was held at the “Olympic Reserves” sports complex and brought together the best sambo athletes from higher education institutions across Ukraine. The athletes competed not only for the championship title but also for the opportunity to represent Ukraine on the international stage. In September, the winners will head to Serbia to participate in the Open European Cup in student sambo.
Yuliia Tolmachova, a cadet from the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine, competed in the up to 80 kg weight category. After intense and spectacular bouts, she successfully finished second.
