Cultural Enrichment: DSUIA Cadets Visit Art Exhibitions

NEWS

Beyond their educational activities, cadets of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs actively engage in social and cultural development.

Over the weekend, cadets from the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation of the National Police of Ukraine had the opportunity to explore the works of photographer Oksana Chorna. The future law enforcement officers visited the photo exhibition “Life and Everyday Realities of Soldiers on the Frontline”, presented by the artist at the Museum of the Contemporary Russian-Ukrainian War.

The exhibition includes around 60 photographs depicting military personnel and medics on the frontlines. These images reveal the everyday life of defenders in combat zones—from ordinary routines to emotionally charged portraits set against the backdrop of war. Oksana Chorna’s work conveys not only the challenges and hardships faced by soldiers but also their immense spirit, courage, and humanity.

The cadets emphasized the importance of such events in shaping their professional and patriotic awareness, as well as offering an authentic portrayal of the realities of war. According to them, this experience was another opportunity to honor Ukrainian heroes and reflect on the value of freedom and human life.

The cadets also visited the ArtSvit Gallery, where they explored an exhibition by Dnipro-based artist Liusia Ivanova. “Warm Optics” is divided into three conceptual parts: early works from the artist’s “Dnipro period,” pieces created during wartime, and a new visual language inspired by motherhood.

Particular interest among the cadets was sparked by watercolor landscapes and portraits of local residents, where calmness and anxiety, the ordinary and the extraordinary, blend together. This emotional contrast, typical of modern-day Ukraine, became the central theme of the exhibition.
