Adaptive Football as a Step Toward Recovery: DSUIA Instructor Participated in a Friendly Match

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

Veterans from across Ukraine—Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, and Kharkiv regions—joined the sports initiative.

A friendly adaptive football match among teams of military veterans took place in Kyiv. The city of Dnipro was represented by Denys Kalchuk, an instructor at the Primary Professional Training Center “Police Academy” of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), and Vyacheslav Pryvalov, a regular participant in veteran sports events.

The teams showcased unity, determination, and true sportsmanship. The match concluded with a friendly result, underscoring the event’s primary goal: not competition, but support, unity, and mutual understanding. Such events are vital for the psychological rehabilitation and social adaptation of veterans. Through sports, participants not only improve their physical health but also rebuild trust in society, forge new connections, and feel part of a strong, united team. This is another step toward returning to an active civilian life.
