Researchers and cadets analyzed current legal mechanisms for compensating destroyed property.
The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs hosted another meeting of the scientific club of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines. The topic of discussion was a highly relevant issue of today — “Compensation for Damage Caused by War.”
The meeting was opened by Doctor of Law, Head of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines, and Head of the Club, Khrystyna Rezorovych. She emphasized the challenges faced by individuals, businesses, and the state in the context of full-scale war, and highlighted the role of private law in ensuring compensation mechanisms.
The practical aspect of the topic was presented by Associate Professor of the Department and Candidate of Legal Sciences, Mykhailo Frolov. As moderator of the event, he explained the legal grounds for receiving compensation for destroyed or damaged housing, outlined the powers of the relevant commissions, and focused on the role of the State Register of Damaged Property. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of establishing compensation funds, particularly through the use of frozen assets of the aggressor abroad.
In their presentations, the cadets addressed topics such as legal innovations in times of crisis, the role of artificial intelligence in modern legal practice, and resilience strategies in emergency situations.
