Two New Graduates from the Driving School for People with Disabilities at DSUIA

NEWS

The Driving School for people with disabilities, operating at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), has proudly graduated two more students—individuals for whom the steering wheel has become a symbol of freedom and new opportunities.

Volodymyr, a serviceman, previously had driving experience only under combat conditions—when it was necessary to move between frontline positions. Today, he eagerly awaits the moment he can get behind the wheel of his own car, which is already road-ready, and take his first drive with his wife and children. Volodymyr admits that overtaking was the most challenging part of the training—a maneuver that received special attention. Thanks to his determination and the support of his instructor, who drove all 10 test routes with him beforehand, Volodymyr passed the exam on his first try.

Yevhen is a veteran who lost both legs while defending Ukraine. For him, driving is not just a skill—it’s a vital necessity. Independently moving around the city, handling daily tasks and paperwork, and caring for his family—all of this now requires mobility. Yevhen is confident that owning a vehicle will significantly improve the quality of life for him and his loved ones.
