The event was opened by Anatolii Fodchuk, Head of the Corruption Prevention Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and Ihor Mahdalina, First Vice-Rector of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA).
The roundtable was held in a hybrid format, moderated by Ruslan Lupyr, DSUIA’s Anti-Corruption Officer. Participants discussed corruption risks in public procurement under martial law, challenges in the effective implementation of anti-corruption legislation, and the process of assessing corruption risks.
Speakers included representatives from the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) in Ukraine, the Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector of the Norwegian Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, academics from Sumy State University and DSUIA, a representative of the Institutional Development Foundation NGO, lawyers, practitioners, and representatives of higher education institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The event was attended by representatives of the High Anti-Corruption Court, the State Bureau of Investigations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Migration Service, the State Border Guard Service, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk units of the National Police’s Internal Security Department, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk Scientific Research Forensic Centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Main Directorates of the National Police and the State Emergency Service, regional Service Centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Territorial Medical Associations in Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia regions, and higher education institutions with specific training conditions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The roundtable was marked by a vibrant exchange of ideas and practical recommendations for preventing corruption and enhancing transparency in the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs during martial law and Ukraine’s post-war recovery.
Participants expressed sincere gratitude to the organizers and called for continued cooperation to achieve the goals of anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine.
