Forensic Examinations: Field Session at Donetsk Scientific Research Forensic Center

As part of the “Criminology” course, a practical session was held for cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine at the Donetsk Scientific Research Forensic Center (NDEKC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The event was organized with the participation of Mykola Yefimov, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor of the Department of Criminology and Pre-Medical Training at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA). Participants learned about the operations of the NDEKC’s structural units, explored the specifics of the work of experts conducting forensic examinations, and received practical advice on ordering various types of examinations during pre-trial investigations.

Center specialists demonstrated the procedures for conducting different types of examinations, shared professional insights, and provided real-world case examples from their practice.

Such sessions enable future law enforcement officers to gain valuable practical experience, deepen their knowledge, and better understand the mechanisms of interaction between investigators and experts in real-world professional settings.
