A training session for the candidates whose works made it to the winners list of the Ministry of Internal Affairs competition was organized by the university’s Department of Scientific Activity.
The National Academy of Internal Affairs (Kyiv), which hosted the second round of the competition this year, announced the list of finalists. Among the scientific works that won prizes, seven were submitted by students of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs. However, the final determination of the winners will take place after the completion of the final scientific-practical conference, scheduled for May 16, where the students whose works became prize winners will defend them.
To ensure quality preparation for the defense of the competition papers, the Department of Scientific Activity at DSUIA organized a training session for the finalists, where the students presented their reports and related presentations. The event was conducted in conditions closely resembling those that the speakers will encounter at the upcoming conference. The Head of the Department of Scientific Activity, Denys Proshin, and Senior Researcher at the department, Olena Shkurko, not only provided the finalists with advice on improving their presentations and visualizations but also asked questions related to the topics of their works.
During the training, the students demonstrated a deep understanding of certain topics and confidently answered most of the questions posed. Summarizing the session, the representatives of the Department of Scientific Activity gave positive feedback on the finalists’ preparation for defending their competition works, but noted that some aspects of the reports and presentations needed improvement and provided recommendations for their enhancement.
