The lesson was conducted as part of the study of the discipline “Criminalistics.”
The event was organized for cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine at DSUIA, and took place at the Donetsk Scientific Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. It involved the participation of Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of Criminalistics and Pre-Medical Training of DSUIA, Mykola Yefimov.
During the session, cadets became familiar with the work of the main structural units of the forensic center, learned about the areas of forensic expert activity, and studied the key aspects of cooperation between investigators and experts within criminal proceedings.
Specialists from the Center shared practical cases and professional developments, and demonstrated the specifics of conducting various types of examinations, including trace evidence, ballistic, handwriting analysis, and DNA testing. Particular attention was given to the algorithm for correctly assigning forensic examinations, preparing the relevant motions, and evaluating expert conclusions in the criminal process.
Thanks to such lessons, cadets have the opportunity to acquire important practical skills, deepen their understanding of the expert’s role in crime investigation, and reinforce theoretical knowledge through real professional interaction.
