DSUIA Cadets Visit Dnipro Historical Museum

NEWS

Cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine attended the opening of the exhibition “Legends of Stone and Steel: The History of Cold Weapons.”

The exhibition is dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the birth of prominent Ukrainian historian Dmytro Yavornytsky. Visitors were presented with over 200 unique items from the museum’s collection: swords, sabres, broadswords, battle axes, knives, daggers, samurai armor, and more.

During the tour, the cadets explored the evolution of cold weapons from the Stone Age to the 19th century and learned about the distinctive martial traditions of various peoples around the world. The exhibition showcases not only Ukrainian weaponry but also pieces from Japan, Persia, India, African countries, and Western Europe.

“This is a great opportunity to immerse ourselves in the world of knights, warriors, and their deadly yet artistic weapons. The Cossack-era artifacts and European samples were particularly fascinating. The exhibition proves that weapons in Ukrainian lands are not merely tools of war or combat instruments. They are a part of cultural and historical identity, embodying courage, dignity, and the unrelenting struggle for freedom,” said the future law enforcement officers.
