Development of Leadership Skills within the Junior Commanders’ School

NEWS

Cadets of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years took part in the event.

During the session, cadets learned about the characteristics and benefits of a positive socio-psychological climate in teams, methods of psychological influence on subordinates and their consequences, and explored the differences between general leadership skills and basic managerial skills.

They mastered techniques of active communication, project-based approaches to problem-solving, and practiced the MECE thinking principle, which helps to structure complex tasks. Special attention was given to the boundaries of responsibility for junior commanders when applying liberal methods of influence, which became the foundation for a lively discussion.

Head of the Psychological Support Department at DSUIA, Serhii Vyshnevskyi, emphasized each cadet’s personal responsibility to meet the standards required of a junior commander’s rank. He encouraged participants to take an active stance and make full use of the professional development opportunities provided by the university leadership. Additionally, Serhii Vyshnevskyi highlighted that each cadet has access to qualified psychological support from the Psychological Support Department.

The knowledge and skills gained during the session will help cadets interact more effectively with their teams, contributing to the formation of a healthy socio-psychological climate in their training groups. This, in turn, will promote productive teamwork and the comprehensive development of each team member.
