Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) hosted solemn events to mark Remembrance and Victory Day over Nazism in World War II (1939–1945), commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of the most large-scale armed conflict in human history.

Cadets, students, faculty, students of the Hostishchev Lyceum, and university leadership gathered in the assembly hall.

The official part of the event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine. The host emphasized the significance of this commemorative date, which honors everyone who fought against Nazism and the millions who fell victim to combat and occupations.

Attendees observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of the fallen.

As part of the event, participants watched the documentary film “Ukraine in World War II: The Cost of Victory,” which highlights the role of Ukrainians in the fight against Nazism and debunks Soviet propaganda myths.

First Vice-Rector of DSUIA, Ihor Mahdalina, addressed the attendees, urging them to preserve historical truth and remember the price of freedom.

The emotional highlight of the event was the vocal performance of “Malvy” by Kseniia Rizvanova, a musical tribute to the maternal pain and heroism of fallen defenders.

Students, cadets, and students of the Dnipro Security-Oriented and National-Patriotic Education Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev at DSUIA laid flowers at the Eternal Glory Monument and honored the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence.

These commemorative events foster the preservation of historical memory, cultivate patriotism, and instill respect for the heroism of past generations among young people.
