The Use of Video Recordings in Police Work

A joint training session was held with the support of the Criminal Analysis Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Zaporizhzhia Region.

The class, titled “Using Video Surveillance Recordings in Crime Investigation,” was conducted by senior officers of the Analytical Work Unit of the Criminal Analysis Department—Police Major Ivan Paramonov and Police Captain Dmytro Mishchenko. The session was attended by cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Cadets were introduced to the practical application of external video surveillance systems and how their recordings assist in solving criminal offenses. Using real case examples from the practice of Zaporizhzhia law enforcement, participants learned about different types of surveillance cameras and systems, their operational principles, and the importance of video evidence in criminal investigations.

The event broadened the professional outlook of DSUIA students, deepened their understanding of modern technologies in law enforcement, and equipped them to effectively use video materials in their future police service.
