The event was organized as part of the “Operational Communication” course.
The main organizer of the meeting was the Norwegian Police University College, which coordinates the project in partnership with leading European institutions: Umeå University (Sweden), the Netherlands Police Academy, the University of Akureyri (Iceland), and the Lower Saxony Police Academy (Germany).
The goal of the event was to establish academic dialogue among future law enforcement officers from different countries, exchange experiences in police training, and develop intercultural communication. Participants introduced themselves, exchanged questions about the specifics of training in their countries, shared impressions, and compared professional training systems.
DSUIA cadets actively engaged in the discussion, answering questions from foreign students about the Ukrainian police education system and inquiring about the practices of their international peers. Topics included the development of professional and communication skills, preparation for work in stressful and emergency situations, and the role of practical training components. Special attention was given to changes in education under martial law conditions.
Cadet Kateryna Sharamok from the DR-245 group of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the NPU and cadet Vladyslav Reshetniak from the KP-331 group of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the NPU presented the educational process at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs. They highlighted key training directions, particularly the use of scenario-based learning, and emphasized the adaptation of the educational process to wartime conditions. Kateryna Sharamok underscored the importance of simulating real-life situations and practical exercises, which develop cadets’ abilities to act effectively in crisis situations and interact with citizens during stress or emergencies.
Representatives of partner institutions presented their training programs, shared their experiences, and expressed interest in the specifics of police training in Ukraine, particularly the adaptation of education to wartime conditions and the practical training components.
The meeting served as a platform for exploring international approaches to police education and promoting Ukrainian practices.
