Students of the Dnipro Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev learned about convoy operations from National Guard servicemen.
At the initiative of the Department of Administrative Law and Process of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, a binary class was held for students of the Dnipro Lyceum for Security and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev on the topic “Organization of Convoying Detainees and Persons in Custody.” The session was conducted by servicemen of military unit No. 3054 of the Central Operational-Territorial Unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, who perform tasks related to convoying, extradition, and the protection of defendants.
The purpose of the training was to familiarize lyceum students with the activities of convoy units of the National Guard of Ukraine, particularly with their tasks involving the transportation and extradition of defendants and convicted individuals from pre-trial detention facilities to courts, as well as their protection during court hearings.
The deputy commander of military unit No. 3054, Major Serhii Kapatilov, spoke about the legal framework governing the activities of convoy units, their system and structure, as well as their main tasks and cooperation with other institutions, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine, territorial divisions of the Court Security Service, and the judiciary.
For two hours, the National Guard servicemen shared their experience and demonstrated the practical aspects of escorting defendants and convicts in a special vehicle, actions during emergencies and extraordinary situations, including escape attempts. The lyceum students also learned about the principles of ensuring security during court proceedings.
The session sparked considerable interest among the students, who actively asked questions about the specifics of service in the National Guard of Ukraine and expressed a strong interest in the professional activities of convoy units.
