The awarding of winners took place following the final scientific and practical conference, where research papers were presented and defended. The event was held at the National Academy of Internal Affairs.
The scientific research competition for first (bachelor’s) level higher education students from institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine was announced in October 2024. During the first stage held at Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), a selection committee chose 14 papers for the next round, 7 of which reached the final.
On May 16, the final scientific and practical conference was held at the National Academy of Internal Affairs in Kyiv. It gathered students whose research had earned top scores. Representatives of 11 higher education institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine delivered presentations defending their results and confirming their places as defined by the competition committee.
The cadets of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs demonstrated a strong command of their research subjects and confidently answered the questions posed by the competition committee, successfully defending their work and securing prize-winning places.

“Forensic Habitology: Modern Perspective and Development Prospects During Martial Law” – Olena Lukyanenko, 3rd-year cadet of the Faculty of Pre-trial Investigation (scientific advisor – Doctor of Law I. Pyrih);
2nd place:
“Legal Foundations of Ukraine’s State Policy on the Restoration of Lands and Soils Damaged by Armed Aggression of the Russian Federation” – Kseniia Rizvanova, 2nd-year cadet (scientific advisor – Lecturer M. Lohinova);
2nd place:
“Organizational and Tactical Principles of Combating Economic Crimes in the Field of Public Procurement” – Daniil Varenyk, police lieutenant (scientific advisor – PhD in Law, Assoc. Prof. V. Teliichuk);
2nd place:
“Specifics of Providing Pre-medical Aid to Servicemen During Combat Operations Involving Chemical Weapons” – Maksym Lubianyi, 3rd-year cadet (scientific advisor – PhD in Law, Assoc. Prof. V. Polyvaniuk);
3rd place:
“Legislative Grounds and Conditions for Limiting Constitutional Rights and Freedoms Under Martial Law: European Experience” – Rostyslav Khomenko, 2nd-year cadet of the Faculty of Preventive Activity (scientific advisor – Lecturer M. Voitiuk);
3rd place:
“War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity: Foundations of International and National Criminal Law Regulation” – Hanna Terekhova, 3rd-year cadet (scientific advisor – Doctor of Law, Assoc. Prof. V. Liudvik).
Following the conference, an official award ceremony was held with the participation of the Director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Police Captain Oleksandr Tarasenko, Rector of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Ruslan Serbin, and other representatives of the academy.
