Dmytro, a graduate of the barrier-free driving school at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, has successfully completed his training and received a Category “B” driver’s license. The license was presented by the school’s director, Yevhenii Khokhlov.
Dmytro, a resident of the city of Ternivka, is a military veteran. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked in the mining industry. In 2023, he voluntarily joined Ukraine’s defense forces, during which he sustained an injury. While undergoing rehabilitation, Dmytro learned about the DSUIA barrier-free driving school through online sources, became interested in the program, and expressed his desire to acquire new skills.
He completed the theoretical part of the training remotely, while practical lessons took place in the city of Dnipro. According to Dmytro, he previously had only basic experience in operating a vehicle, but thanks to the support of qualified instructors, he now confidently drives a car.
Dmytro currently owns a car with an automatic transmission and plans to continue actively improving his driving skills.
The barrier-free driving school has been operating at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs since March 2023 as part of First Lady Olena Zelenska’s “Without Barriers” initiative.
