Countering Cybercrime: Training Series Continues

The training session was conducted for second-year cadets of the Faculty of Criminal Police Training of the National Police of Ukraine.

The meeting was led by Police Major Dmytro Danchenko, Head of the Department for Combating Cybercrime in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

During the session, cadets were introduced to the basic principles of cyber hygiene, the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, the concept of crypto assets, open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques, and methods of countering cyber fraud.

Special attention was given to current digital threats, such as phishing attacks, personal data breaches, and fraudulent schemes involving social networks and messengers.

Participants received both theoretical knowledge and practical insights into the tools used daily by cyber police officers in operational and investigative work.

Such training sessions are extremely valuable for cadets as they help form a modern understanding of cybercrime as one of the most dangerous types of criminal activity today. These sessions foster analytical thinking, increase digital literacy, and prepare future police officers to effectively combat crimes in cyberspace.
