NEWS

An optional class was held as part of the course “Organization of Police Activities to Ensure Community Safety.”

The Department of Administrative Law and Procedure, together with the DSUIA Research Laboratory for Preventive Activities and Sociological Studies, introduced a modern Swedish educational method for veteran reintegration into communities using educational cards.

The session was conducted by Andrii Sobakar, Head of the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure, Doctor of Law, Professor, and Police Lieutenant Colonel; Kristina Derevianko, Senior Lecturer and Police Senior Lieutenant; and Iryna Drok, Head of the Research Laboratory for Preventive Activities and Sociological Studies, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, and Police Major.

During the class, key challenges faced by veterans returning from war were analyzed, common myths and stereotypes were debunked, the importance of respectful communication was discussed, and the role of the National Police in supporting and reintegrating veterans was defined.

Special attention was given to the practical application of this knowledge — how future police officers can use it in their service to build effective interaction with veterans in the community.

A special guest of the event was war veteran Yevhenii Khokhlov, Head of the DSUIA Vehicle Training Department, who shared his personal experience and helped cadets better understand the material and form a practical understanding of how to support veterans.
