Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) actively supports the sports rehabilitation of military veterans. Weekly training sessions organized by the Department of Special Physical Training contribute to restoring both physical and psychological health among participants.
Workouts at DSUIA’s gym help strengthen muscles, increase endurance, and improve joint mobility — aspects that are particularly important for veterans recovering from injuries or living with prosthetics. Adaptive programs tailored to individual needs ensure a safe recovery of physical fitness, reduce chronic pain, and lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
The training also stimulates the production of endorphins, which reduces stress, eases symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), boosts self-confidence, and promotes social reintegration.
Group training sessions held within the framework of the “Friendly Support” project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Department of Education, Science, and Sports create a welcoming environment. Veterans share their experiences, overcome isolation, and return to active life.
