The event was organized by the Department of Special Physical Training of the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs.
According to experts, table tennis offers significant benefits for the rehabilitation of military veterans. Physically, it improves coordination, reflexes, fine motor skills, eye muscle training, and cognitive abilities. Its low risk of injury ensures safe training conditions and contributes to better respiratory and cardiovascular function. Psychologically, the game helps reduce stress and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), allowing veterans to focus and regain emotional balance.
For over a year, the athletes have been coached by Vasyl Koval, Ukrainian Table Tennis Champion.
Group training sessions foster a friendly atmosphere, promote socialization, and help overcome isolation — all of which are essential for reintegration into civilian life. Thanks to regular training at DSUIA, a close-knit team of like-minded individuals has formed and now participates in various sports competitions.
The event was held within the framework of the “Friendly Support” project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Department of Education, Science, and Sports.
